10 Days Uganda safari takes you on an extensive wildlife and primate adventure. This special safari ushers you to the Northwest to extreme southwestern circuit destinations.
It focuses on gorilla trekking, chimpanzee tracking, cultural experience, game drives, and a recreational boat cruise excursion.
The signature destinations to be explored on the 10-day safari in Uganda include Murchison Falls National Park, Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, Kibale National Park, Queen Elizabeth, and Lake Mburo National Park.
En route visit options include the Equator monuments, photography opportunities, and lunch at some of the best restaurants.
Detailed 10 Days Uganda Safari
Day 1: Arrival for Your 10 Days Uganda safari
On arrival at the Entebbe International Airport, you will be directed to the immigration desk, and later, our safari driver-guide can pick you up from the waiting lounge.
Drive safely to the airport in Entebbe or Kampala and expect to check in early. You will have a quick discussion on the itinerary to prepare you for the next program the following day.
Day 2: Leave Entebbe for Ziwa & later Murchison
After breakfast, set off from the hotel property for Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, where you will be visiting rhinos on a guided trek with a site expert.
From Ziwa, continue to Masindi town and settle in one of the top hotels/restaurants for you to enjoy lunch.
The last transfer will be done in the afternoon to Murchison Falls National Park, Northwestern Uganda via Kichumbanyobo gate.
You may drive directly to the lodge or first pay a visit to the top of the falls (optional). Overall, driving duration from Entebbe to Murchison Falls National Park is likely to cover between 6 and 7 hours.
Day 3: Game drive and boat/launch cruise -Best of 10 Days Uganda Safari
Game drive marks your key safari highlight today. Expect to set off before the sun rises to catch up with the morning risers as they become active.
In a session that is to run for about 2-3 hours along the Northern circuit, you will spot a diversity of animals like the Jackson’s hartebeest, elephants, warthogs, cape buffaloes, leopards, hyenas, and Rothschild giraffes.
Uganda Kobs, Oribis, and many birds await you to interact with while on a game drive excursion in Murchison Falls National Park.
After the enriching game viewing trip, get back and enjoy lunch. Continue with the Victoria Nile boat cruise experience starting at around 2:00 pm.
First, assemble at the Paraa Jetty to get orientation on safety guidelines, and after, take your seats ready to embark on an unforgettable boat tour.
As you navigate through the Victoria Nile, you will be spotting several aquatic species such as the Nile crocodiles, hippos, and birds. Return to Paraa Jetty and proceed to the lodge for relaxation, dinner, & overnight.
Day 4: Visit Kibale –Drive through the Hoima-Fort Portal route
Enjoy a delicious breakfast and then have your luggage packed in the vehicle. Today, the program will be to connect to Kibale National Park, a 795 sq. km forest-protected area also home to more than 13 primate species.
A journey to Kibale will take 6-7 hours depending on the stopovers to be made. But expect to have your lunch in Fort Portal city, and you will make the final drive to Kibale to check in at the lodge.
Day 5: Go chimpanzee trekking and visit Bigodi
Visit Kanyanchu tourism centre with your essential documents. Get cleared at the park reservation desk and then join the briefing area to learn more about dos and don’ts to be observed when trekking Kibale chimpanzees.
The park ranger guides will be allocated to each group of visitors (each consisting of 6pax). After the briefing, you will move into the forest starting at around 8:00 am. Trekking with Kibale chimpanzees can take you 2-4 hours.
The session includes one hour of photography, plus witnessing how chimpanzees behave, and for you to take pictures. From here, you will be escorted back and transferred to the lodge to enjoy your lunch.
Day 6: Kibale to Queen, visit Kikorongo Monument
After breakfast, proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park in a 4WD vehicle on a journey of 2-3 hours. Navigate via Kasese, and as you approach Queen Elizabeth National Park, expect to have photography time at the Kikorongo Equator monument.
Continue to the lodge and check in, have lunch, and later, you will visit the Kazinga Channel to enjoy your afternoon boat cruise.
As you enjoy 2-3 hours on the Kazinga Channel, expect to find crocodiles, hippos, and water birds. Get back and have leisure time in your respective accommodation options.
Day 7: Game drive and visit Bwindi
After a delicious breakfast, leave the lodge for the Ishasha sector. At Ishasha, you will have a sensational game drive. The main highlight of your game drive here will be the tree-climbing lions.
But expect to find other diverse animals such as hyenas, buffaloes, warthogs, and elephants, etc. Enjoy lunch and continue to Bwindi, where you will be tracking mountain gorillas.
Day 8: Gorilla Trek & Visit Lake Bunyonyi
Enjoy a heavy breakfast, and afterwards, you can drive to the park offices to get oriented. It will be on this day that you will be allocated a habituated gorilla group and ranger guides.
You may also hire porters in case of heavy luggage, and by 8:00 am, expect to actually trek to find Bwindi mountain gorillas.
The gorilla trekking experience will extend for 2-6 hours and includes 1 hour of up close with a group of mountain gorillas.
After trekking Bwindi gorillas, you will get back to have leisure time and lunch. In the evening, you will check out and visit Lake Bunyonyi, a scenic lake with 29 islands.
Day 9: Canoe ride & Drive to Lake Mburo
After a hot cup of coffee or tea, catch up with a sunrise canoeing excursion on Lake Bunyonyi. Head towards one of the tropical islands on this lake while you appreciate the surrounding scenery and more.
After the canoe ride, get back and check out as you prepare to connect to Lake Mburo National Park. Have a leisurely dinner and overnight in the lodge in or around Lake Mburo Game Park.
Day 10: Nature walk & Transfer to Entebbe
After a hefty breakfast, catch up with the morning nature walk led by an experienced park ranger guide. Navigate through the lush savannahs while viewing some of your favorite wildlife.
Lake Mburo National Park is one of the few parks with limited large predators, making it a safe place for nature walks.
Lake Mburo is famous for wildlife such as zebras, Rothschild giraffes, impalas, elands, oribi, Uganda Kobs, and more.
After the nature walk, have lunch, then continue to Kayabwe Equator Crossing for a short photography moment before making the final drive to Entebbe.
